Introduction
Bunker reached out as he was feeling a little under the weather (get better Bunker, I got you) so YHC jumped at the chance to Q a Ruck Club. Checked the weather and saw that it was going to be “moist” out so I knew one thing we would be doing….army crawls!
Warm-O-Rama
Decided to start tapping some of our newer PAX that have yet to Q and have them lead the PAX in SHH. Taking a page out of the GrowRuck experience, I asked The Worm to lead the PAX in some SSH’s. With a little direction from YHC, The Worm led the PAX through 10 SSH. Provided The Worm with some additional instruction on how to improve upon what he had done and asked that he try again. TCLAPS to The Worm. YHC proceeded to do the same thing with Dilbert. Both men did a great job! I highly encourage others to try this out when it makes sense to do so. YHC then led the PAX through some Good Mornings and Tappy Taps before getting right into the Thang
The Thang
The first part of this Ruck Club consisted of having the PAX perform Tabata. The Tabata was 4 Rds (20 seconds of work, followed by 10 secs of rest) for each of the following movements: Ruck Overhead Press, Ruck Overhead Push Press, Ruck Squats, and Ruck Thrusters. Upon completion, the PAX grabbed all of various sandbags (40lbs-80lbs) and YHC led them towards the baseball fields where we entered one of the fields and regrouped at the center field fence. PAX dropped sandbags and we army crawled (on our bellies) to the infield. As PAX reached the destination, they were instructed to return to the sandbags and start bringing them to the infield.
Once all PAX completed and all sandbags were accounted for, YHC led the PAX out to the park restroom facility where we took a right and entered the soccer field. PAX dropped the sandbags and we commenced “army crawl” towards the entrance road of the PARC facility. As we encountered field lines on the grass, the PAX performed 5 hand-release merkins. We did this for about 4-5 sets. As the time to reconvene at the flags drew near, the PAX recovered all of the sandbags and we made our way back to the flag area.
For Mary, the PAX performed flutter kicks with rucks extended, flutter press (flutter kick/chest press with ruck) and leg raises with rucks extended until Recover, Recover
Circle of Trust
Dear Abby read the announcements (thanks brother for that and having our 6!), Hanger presented (thank you) The Worm with his dog tags for having completed his 43rd post with F3 Plainfield (awesome job brother…inspiring story you have). YHC gave a short COT based on a saying El Churro (my 2.0 daughter) had on her shirt the night before. The shirt read “Be The Spark“. My message to the men this morning was to be the spark! Be The Spark at Work: The guy that does the things nobody wants to do, motivate coworkers, enjoy what you do and if you don’t enjoy you’re job go find one that does provide joy. Be The Spark at Home: Don’t be like all the other sad clowns and go sit on the couch and let life pass you by. Engage with your M, your shorties, etc. Be the spark for your family! We only have one life! Finally, Be The Spark in the Gloom – Encourage the men around you! Lead from the front! Remember we get to do this, we don’t have to do this. Finished off with some TAPs
Naked Man Moleskin
We got wet! It was intentional at least for my part! Time to start testing that inclement weather gear men! Thanks Bedpan for reinforcing the need to get our gear right. Don’t let that be an excuse to keep you out of the gloom! Congrats to The Worm on his 43rd post. He also swapped out his F3 acceleration flag with the brand new AO flag! Thanks to the men that decided to show-up this morning, I enjoyed this Ruck Club and I hope you did as well.
