Introduction
There were mixed emotions (happy, uncertainty, maybe some sadness) leading up to this day, but the thought of having over 100 Men from F3 Plainfield, F3 Naperville, F3 Kankakee, and F3 Southsid3 HC (Hard Commit) to attend this Convergence left no doubt that this was going to be Epic! The weather was looking a little sketchy, but like all things in life we were ready to adjust, if needed.
Warm-O-Rama
Dauber kicked off the Convergence with a very quick 5 minute warmup. Part of the warmup was just getting a count of the PAX (Men of F3) …that’s a lot of dudes to get a total count and then a count to break into 4 groups.
After the PAX were counted and the various groups established, the PAX headed out to their specific starting station. The beatdown consisted of four stations where each group would perform the exercises at the station for 9 minutes and then rotate to the next station (there was a 3-minute transition time allowed per station).
The Thang
The THANGS
Station 1 – 11’s Thrusters and Burpees. Perform 1 Thruster, Murder Bunny to other side of field, perform 10 burpees, Murder Bunny back, perform 2 thrusters, murder bunny back, perform 9 burpees, etc. The distance between each side was approximately 25 yards.
Station 2 – Sand Bucket Challenge – PAX started at the base of a steep hill and grab sand full of sand at the bottom of him and move it as fast as possible to the top of the hill and fill their specific group bucket. Rinse and repeat until time.
Station 3 – Bear-pee Ladder – pax would bear real 5 steps, stop and do 1 burpee, bear crawl 5 steps, do 2 burpees, continue up to 10 burpees then turn around and come down the ladder starting with 9 burpees, then 8 burpees, etc.
Station 4 – Sandbag Futbol – with 40lb sandbags at the midfield of the soccer field the PAX partnered up. At start Partner 1 would run to their end zone (about 25 yds) and perform 3 burpees. At the same time Partner2 would perform a sandbag front toss towards Partner 1’s end zone (trying to score). When the two meetup the PAX would switch where Partner 2 would run to their end zone and perform 3 burpees while Partner 1 performed sandbag toss toward Partner 2 end zone. In the event someone scored, the PAX would return to midfield and start over.
Mary was led by Squidward where PAX performed various core building exercises before closing out the beatdown.
Circle of Trust
There were a ton of announcements: New Site Qs (most important position in F3), 43 POST milestones, High Impact Man (HIM) coupon, POSTing Club Milestones (200 or more, 250 or more, Most Posts), Introduced The Next Men up to lead F3 Plainfield, SLT4. Quatro closed out the session as the PAX got into a Ball of a Man for some Thoughts and Prayers (TAPs)
Naked Man Moleskin
The PAX hung around for a bit afterwards for some free coffee and breakfast sandwiches. This may in fact be the sole reason the PAX showed up. We had 6 FNGs and a 7th that was EHd as he was walking with his M. The 7th (Henry) darted just as the beatdown finished so unfortunately, he didn’t get named. If he felt what everyone else likely did at the Convergence, there’s no doubt he will be back to get his F3 name.
Words cannot express how thankful F3 Plainfield is for all that have done so much to advance the mission of F3. What a special gift we have all been given and it’s free! Free to participate in, and free to give away. We don’t do what we do for ourselves. Go Give this Gift Away! Looking forward to what the next 43 feet will bring.
True HIM! Thank you Bluegill for all you do!
