Introduction

Another beautiful morning to put in some hard work!  In an effort to push our reach to more sad clowns, I threw out a offer that for every FNG that showed up this morning, I’d donate $25 to the Third F Foundation.  My 6 (Yellow Card) also agreed to do the same.  In fact, another HIM (Disco Ball) Qing at another AO (The Wood) also agreed to do the same thing.  I got to the AO early to finalize the running portion of the workout where I posted a few small American flags as markers for 2 of the 3 runs.  Greeted the PAX as they were showing up and then to my surprise, we had a FNG!  Game On!

As protocol, I went over the disclaimer, the F3 principles, our mission , and credo and then we moved into the Warm-O-Rama

Circle of Trust

My 6, Yellow Card read the announcements  and then prior to the Name-O-Rama (NOR) and COT, we met our FNG who we will learn a little more about once he gets on slack. The FNG was EH’d by Squidward.  After the NOR and before getting into YHC’s (Your Humble Communicator) message for the day we found out a little about The 6th Man (the person who is number 6 in Count-A-Rama shares about themselves).

The 6th Man today happened to be Jon ‘JJ’ Johnson (aka F3 Plainfield’s – Squidward).

Ironically, JJ started with F3 Plainfield almost one month ago (5/6/2022) where he posted for the first time at Three Rivers and was EH’d by PI 3.14.  JJ, a 50 yr old, retired Army Lieutenant Colonel spent time as an infantryman and then flew both the Apache/Chinook helicopters while serving this great country.  Now a process engineer for Amazon, (Noteworthy:  I think he’s EH’d his whole family as they all seem to work for Amazon),  this High Impact Man (HIM) is definitely drinking the Kool-Aid and commented that he’s been looking for brotherhood like he had in the Army and this F3 thing we have is the first time he’s felt that same comradery.  Glad to have you as part of the group, Squidward and thank you for your service.  Now go sign up for GrowRuck30!  You got this!

The month of June is PTSD Awareness month.  PTSD is a mental health problem.  It can only develop after you go through or see a life-threatening event.   It’s normal to have upsetting memories, feel on edge, or have trouble sleeping after a traumatic event (also called “trauma”). At first, it may be hard to do daily activities you are used to doing, like go to work, go to school, or spend time with people you care about. But most people start to feel better after a few weeks or months. For some people, PTSD symptoms may start later, or they may come and go over time.

If it’s been longer than a few months and thoughts and feelings from the trauma are upsetting you or causing problems in your life, you may have PTSD.  It should also be noted that you do not need to be a Veteran, LE/FIRE, etc. to have PTSD.  Life threatening events can happen to anyone.

I would be remised if I didn’t mention that just down the road from the Three Rivers AO is the Forgotten Warrior PTSD Memorial.  This memorial was built as a tribute to all those veterans who have served and sacrificed their lives as a direct result of PTSD.  Never forget about those service members that took their own lives because of PTSD as well as their family and friends who now live everyday with that loss.  I highly encourage all PAX to make their way over this month to check out the Forgotten Warrior PTSD Memorial.  Information on the Memorial > THE FORGOTTEN WARRIOR MEMORIAL – Home

Thoughts and Prayers for several F3 Plainfield family members as well as those dealing with PTSD

Naked Man Moleskin

Well, Plunger fartsacked for starters though I did reach out afterwards and he’s okay.  Something about an unplanned late night and his phone dying.  I’m sure there’s probably a good story in there somewhere, but I didn’t inquire…just glad he was good to go.

My final thoughts other than what was already stated is that we really do have something special, this F3 thing.  The comment Squidward made about having something similar to the comradery found in the military is so very true.  We cannot take for granted what we have and with that we have to share it with others.  Sharing it can sometimes prove to be challenging as its like we’re selling something and often the other side may think we want something in return.  I guess we do in some regards, we want them to experience what we experience.  Of course the hard part is communicating that without over doing it and driving sad clowns away before they even get to their first workout.  Keep it simple men, we have a free workout and we would love to have some new men join us for that free workout.  At least come try it once or twice.  I think the rest takes care of itself.  I challenge all of us to get out of our comfort zone and continue to try and EH some dudes.  This may not be for everyone, but its certainly for someone. Go find that someone!  Have a blessed day and keep pushing the front!  Aye!
