Introduction

Seems like just a year ago I did a birthday Q. Oh wait, it was a year ago. Here we are again though, one year older but no wiser. Got there early to set up and tagged along with Sparkler on an EC run through the neighborhood. Great start to a great day.

The Thang

Since it’s my 55th birthday the number 55 was key. We were in the field with coupons.

Thang 1: Tabada with 5 sets of 5 exercises for a total exercise plus rest time of 55 seconds. The exercises were OH Press, Chest Press, Curls, Goblet Squat, and Blockees – 45 sec of each and 10 sec rest. We did this sequence 5 times.

Thang 2: 55 reps of an exercise with coupon, run 55 yards (w/o coupon), do 55 reps of a non-coupon exercise, run back. Repeat through a total of 3 exercises with coupon (skull crushers, bent over rows, coupon swings) and 3 w/o coupon (plank jacks, monkey humpers, grady corns).

Circle of Trust

I spoke about how it is so important to find your inner peace when the world around you seems to be in chaos. My context was a situation at work the day before that weighed on my mind and kept me up till past midnight. After some prayer and reflection on the situation, I was able to find my inner peace and finally fall asleep. This was just one small example, and there are more important and serious things that occur in everyone’s life, but being able to find peace in those moments is critically important.
