Today we honored pfc Andrew N. Meari of Plainfield, KIA 2010.
The Murph is Monday, but as your enjoying your hotdogs Hamburgers, family & friends, we need to remember, your freedoms & ability to make choices was paid for on the backs & with the blood of our fallen.
I had googled the park named after Andrew, a couple blocks north of Caton Farm on Joe Adler drive. The sign did not show Andrew’s name so I drove there. The sign does indeed show his name, (Google’s pic was old).
Andrew was a big hockey fan, went to his first Blackhawks game when he was 4 yo. At age 11 he became obsessed with the Nights Templer & researched them inside & out! His mother Denise & Andrew had talked about making a trip to Stone Hedge & often contemplated who built it.
