Introduction

Figured nowhere better to pop the VQ cherry than the most erect AO that the F3 Plainfield region has to offer!

Warm-O-Rama

  1. Mosey – 0.25 lap (tour the path that will be used in the Thang)

  4. Tie Fighters – 10 count forward / 10 count reverse

The Thang

PAX counted off by 4 and gathered in appropriate group. Groups went to corresponding station. Groups completed exercises at stations together, taking turns leading the exercises. The running group was the timer for station rotation; rotate upon return.

  • Group 1 = Station 1

  • Group 2 = Station 2

    • repeat until rotate
  • Group 4 = Champagne Run [5 count sprint, burpees]

Cycled through stations until 5:56 then circled up for Mary. Mary consisted of:

  • LBC – 10
  • AmericanHammers – 10
  • BigBoys – 10
  • Repeat above until 0559
  • Merkin ROF @ 0559 until 0600 — Recover Recover

Suicide Awareness Month — Men Need Community!

 

  • HankHill shared an IG Reel that has caused a lot of reflection and further reading
  • US, Canada, UK – suicide is leading cause of male deaths <50
  • 92% of men in study that took their life WERE seeking help / therapy
  • Of those 92%, 80% were deemed no / low risk for suicide
  • Above indicates- not great read on men; don’t know when men are hurting AND therapy is not the only solution
  • Commonality of these self destructing men are lonely, no friends, angry – lacking hope
  • Identified key to success & improvement; brotherhood AKA community
  • Community provides a sense of belonging to a group with a common mission and/or vision
  • Community provides hope, purpose and re-construction for those in need
  • I challenge all of us to find someone in our life to share the F3 community, to provide a sad clown with hope by means of belonging to an organization greater than he.  I challenge us to consciously evangelize for F3, as someone smarter than me has said, “not because F3 needs more men, but because more men need F3.”

We ended in a prayer and lifted up Flo’s wife’s friend that lost her husband in a traffic accident.

This F3 brotherhood is magical; the air is thick with encouragement, support, loyalty, camaraderie and dedication.  I’m excited for the others that we will bring in to the gloom to feel the power!

It was a gas to share this VQ experience with these PAX this AM — great crowd.
