Introduction
Disco Ball recently put up a post reminding all PAX we are peer led in a ROTATING fashion. With many open Q spots and not Q’ing recently I felt inclined to sign up for the Ridge’s open Q spot and utilize the hill with a fun game of bags. Thank you Disco Ball for the nudge!

The Thang
We split off into 2 teams and lined up facing the hill. The PAX on the outside started first and headed up the hill each carrying a 60lb sand bag. Once to the top of the hill they were greeted by a fun game of bags (cornhole). They each threw 4 bags and the team for the winning PAX did 5 merkins, while the losing team did 3 burpees. If there was a tie, all PAX did 20 Mountain Climbers (10 each leg). They would then carry the 60lb sand bags back down the hill and switch with the next PAX. While the PAX were heading up the hill and throwing bags the rest of the PAX did an AMRAP of the listed exercises until they were told which team won/lost and had to do their victory/losing merkins/burpees.
Round 1 – Curls
Round 2 – Chest Press
Round 3 – OHP
Round 4 – BOR
Round 5 – Contra WW3’s
Round 6 – Skull Crushers
Round 7 – Thrusters
We ended Mary at the top of the hill with Green Sally Up.
Circle of Trust
I came across reading this recently and wanted to use it as my CoT:
We convince ourselves that life will be better after we get married, have a baby, then another. Then we are frustrated that the kids aren’t old enough, and we’ll be more content when they are.
After that, we’re frustrated that we have teenagers to deal with. We will certainly be happy when they are out of that stage. We tell ourselves that our life will be complete when our partner gets his or her act together when we get a nicer car, are able to go on a nice vacation, when we retire.
The truth is, there’s no better time to be happy than right now. If not now, when?
Your life will always be filled with challenges.
It’s best to admit this to yourself and decide to be happy anyway.
A quote comes from Alfred D. Souza. He said,
“For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin – real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, or a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.”
This perspective has helped me to see that there is no way to happiness. Happiness is the way.
So, treasure every moment that you have and treasure it more because you shared it with someone special, special enough to spend your time…and remember that time waits for no one.
So, stop waiting until you lose ten pounds, until you gain ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you start work, until you retire, until you get married, until you get divorced, until Friday night, until Sunday morning, until you get a new car or home, until your car or home is paid off, until spring, until summer, until winter, until your song comes on, until you’ve had a drink…. there is no better time than right now to be happy.
Happiness is a journey, not a destination.
Naked Man Moleskin
During QvQ last year, Dauber led a fun Q of a bootcamp while playing bags. For this Q I wanted to do something similar but step it up and utilize the hill and some sandbags to give some further intensity. The set up for this was much more than I originally anticipated as it took about a full 30 minutes to set up (I burned 200 calories in the setup alone and another 600 calories during the BC) and I rushed back down to the flags at 5:12 to greet the PAX.
Much appreciation to:
Caboose for the lights (with it being so dark again I needed some good lighting for the bags game)
Schlitz and Trickle for the 60 lb sand bags
Dilly Dilly for the coffee
Trickle for having my 6!
