Introduction
The goal was to put men in a position where they would have to confront something that seemed physically impossible. This Q was a lesson on resiliency.
It was a deconstructed impossible mile / pearls on a string, essentially
Made Men believe they were going to have to bear crawl for a half a mile.
Warm-O-Rama
Ran the circle Around me for Welcome and disclaimer. Side Shuffled to the right for Principles. Side shuffled to the left for Mission Statement and Credo. Recovered to stretch muscles to be used.

Shoulder Stretch (L/R), Daisy Pickers, Calf Stretch, Worlds Greatest/Runners Stretch (L/R) on both. All were a 10 count. Everyone got a chance to count.
The Thang
Walked to the crushed pebble path in a line and started explaining. The line slowly jogged to the coffee pavilion at Three Rivers.
Pointed to the junior high around a half mile away and said to do a 4 x 1 there. (4 Count bear crawl one burpee). As soon as there was a lot of separation, I grabbed the twelve and did a bearpee ladder back (4 x laddering up the burpees). I said that is probably impossible and we should do something else.
We started the bataan death crawl. (Bear Crawl slingshot line. the back does 5 burpees, runs to the front and bear crawls) we did this until it felt like most were done bear crawling. We walked in a line again. Holding the line we did the same format with the back doing 5 burpees and running to the front. The mode of travel changed to Lunge Walk.
I stopped the line at the school and we started walking again. I said we had to get back lets broad jump. This was not done in a line we just took off. As soon as their was a lot of separation I grabbed the 12 again and we side shuffled back. In a line we side shuffled, facing west for 100 yards and then switched to facing east. We took the western most path in the AO back to the flags. After our side shuffling We ran back for Mary.
Mary Torched the Chest and More legs by holding planks with up and downs and then, once failure happened Squats with low and high. Movements were performed to Moby’s, “Flower.”
Circle of Trust
I explained what the impossible mile actually was and my own progression through it. I have tried it 3 times and only succeeded on time during my last attempt. To date, the only people that I know of that have conquered this challenge are Blue Gill, Jellystone, Sparkler, and Mr. Kotter. I’m sure others have and can do this.
The one time I succeeded was the only time I had the mindset to do it. I wanted to get the job done more than I wanted the bootcamp to be done. I started resting less during bear crawls. Noticed I was wasting to much time with things so I started resting less and simplifying movements.
Most things and restraints that hold us back in life and seem impossible can become possible with the right mindset. Belief is a powerful thing!
