Introduction

There were some parts of The Olympiad that I hadn’t yet seen incorporated in a beatdown, so I wanted to do a Pearls on a String. Added a heavy buy-in at the beginning so we all had a good full-body workout to start our Thursday!

Meeting Commitments

  • Yesterday there was someone who failed to meet a commitment that they made to my M, and my M allowed it to affect her entire day (so we have 2 opportunities to discuss during this CoT)
  • Meeting commitments is critical – if you say you’re going to do something, do it – don’t let others down. They are depending on you for something, so be dependable.
  • If something changes let them know and recalibrate – it always turns out fine if you do this
  • Say no to the things that you know you won’t be able to hold your end of the commitment. You won’t be able to do everything you want all of the time, and overcommitting will lower your batting average.
  • How do we handle it when someone fails to meet a commitment to us? Don’t get angry and assume the worst – reach out and see if the person is OK. Maybe something unexpected happened, maybe something tragic. Don’t bottle it up and be passive aggressive – initiate contact and talk!

Great job this morning PAX! Thanks for the opportunity to lead.  I love The Olympiad, and Dunkin afterwards!
