Circle of Trust
My grandfather passed on Friday. I wanted to thank all of the MEN of F3 for being who they were, being surrounded by you guys has made it easier to get through this difficult time. I apologize for not being able to keep my composure during my CoT (I broke down in tears trying to speak).
But I wanted to speak about my grandfather, he was actually my step grandfather. He came into our lives when I was around 8 years old, my paternal grandmother already had 8 children, and he stepped in and cared for every single one of them and us as if we were his own.
He was always so welcoming when we visited, he would always greet you with open arms and a warm smile. At one point of my life when I was in my 20’s, I had to move in with them while I was in college. He learned my schedule, I started work at 5:15am, would come home at 2:30PM and leave to school at 4PM and return at 10PM, and every day he didn’t care if I had plans or not, he would make sure I had a warm lunch/dinner waiting for me before and after school. My biggest regret was not telling him how much I appreciated him for that.
He was taken from us way to early, a few months ago, he was involved in a car accident where he was t-boned at an intersection. His bones did not break, they shattered, and that is when they found that he had cancer. He was 77 years old when he passed, funny thing that I just learned was that he was 10 years younger than my grandmother!
Rest In Peace Abuelito.

Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers, and to all the MEN that personally reached out to me.
