Fridays at The Ridge are great! Always a good turnout, and great push to close out the week. Today, I wanted to start with something heavy, then get the heart rates up, and finish with a strong Mary.

Thang 2 (The Game):

  • Move to the bottom of the hill carrying our coupons. Split PAX into two groups (count off)
  • Each group lines up their coupons end to end going up the hill, starting at the bottom
  • Both teams go back to Cone 1– PAX do PT exercises then run to Cone 2 for more PT.
  • At Cone 1:
    • 10 merkins
    • 15 big boys
    • 20 air squats
    • 15 big boys
    • 10 merkins
  • At Cone 2 (100 yds from Cone 1):
    • 10 Monkey Humpers
    • 15 Mountain Climbers (2-is-1)
    • 20 LBCs
    • 15 Mountain Climbers (2-is-1)
    • 10 Monkey Humpers
  • Run back from the cone, move a coupon in your team’s line up to the top of the line.  Team that gets their caterpillar the farthest wins. Woohoo.

Circle of Trust

  • Our topic was Assuming Best Intentions (or Assuming Good Intent)
  • Think about a time recently when you were part of a team and felt like one of the team members wasn’t “pulling their weight”.  What did you think? How did you feel about them?
  • Most people will have negative feelings toward that person, reaching a conclusion on their own about why that team member wasn’t contributing as much as expected. That conclusion is usually something like “they don’t care”, “they’re no good” or “they’re worthless”.  I did this last weekend.
  • Assuming best intentions means to give the benefit of the doubt and approach the person in a supportive way to ask what’s holding them back. Sometimes they will share that they’re having a personal issue and need help, sometimes you’ll find that they don’t understand what the group expects of them, sometimes you’ll find that they aren’t committted then you can help motivate them or hold them accountable.
  • All of these are better than just assuming that someone has poor intentions and coming to a negative conclusion about that person.
  • So – remember to assume best intentions and stay positive with others.

Naked Man Moleskin

Great job by all 14 PAX who joined me this morning. Good push, encouragement, support and accountability (Den Monther) if anyone tried to cheat (Dauber). As things turned out the coupon caterpillar race was too close to call and everyone was a winner this morning!
