Introduction

I had my birthday bash planned for a week or so now, and was hoping that the ground was going to hold up with all of the rain we got.  In fact, I did a little recon on during Saturday morning Ruck Club to see just how sloppy the fields were going to be.  They did not disappoint.  Fields were very sloppy, but no standing water.  If this held up, we were a go for the original plan, and to my pleasure, it did.  Its Go Time!

HYC then lead the 8 other PAX, with our coupons in tow, to left field of the baseball diamond.  Here is where I told the PAX that at 49, I am not quite over the hill just yet, so this beatdown wont be going over the hill either.  I then point to the hill, which was about 0.2 miles away and told the PAX we are doing 11’s.  Starting with Blockee’s in Left Field and Burpees at the top of Mt. Wood.  After a little bit of bitching from Bob Villa, we all got to work.

Circle of Trust

This morning I was reflecting on me and how my body felt at 49.  I am sore, and did not want to do what I had planned.  My knees and lower back are often stiff and hurt.  My ankles crack and bother me as I run and I wonder, at times, why am I doing this.  Some say we are stupid, some say we are crazy, but the true is, that today is the best I will likely feel in over the next 10, 15, or 20 years, and after those long years pass, I an certain I would give a small fortune to jump back time to be 49 once again, even with all the “pain” and “stiffness” I often complain about.  Gentleman, we don’t know what tomorrow brings, and we have no idea how long we will be able to do the crazy shit we do, so embrace it.  Live it to its fullest.  IMO if the people in your circles, who are NOT in F3, don’t think your at least a little crazy, then you’re doing it wrong.  SYITG!

Naked Man Moleskin

Field was soggy, and did not disappoint.  I told PAX in the Pre-Blast to expect wet feet.  I certainly delivered on that promise.  Blue Gill was just wrapping up his last round when we had to call it.  This needed about another 3-4 minutes to allow PAX to fully complete.
