Introduction
This beatdown was the second of a back to back Gauntlet, after a 15 mile overnight ruck. 21 PAX completed the overnight ruck. All stayed for the first of two gauntlets, but 6 of us now remained. I was not looking forward to this. We had 30 minutes of down time. The cold weather was ripping through me and my now wet base layer was making me cold. Once 0630 came around, I was ready to get this party started!
Warm-O-Rama
Being cold, I knew I needed to get my heart rate up quickly, so started with a easy mosey around the parking lot. This quickly turned into a fast jog, then all out race in between Bob Villa and I and set the tone for the rest of the workout.

The Gauntlet
This is a team event. We broke into 3-teams. Each team was challenged to push the pace to “catch” the time in front of them, while staying together and picking up their own SIX.
Team 1 started by completing 1 parking lot lap, roughly 0.2 miles. They were tasked with moving at a pace to “catch” Team 3 in The Gauntlet.
Team 2 did 2-Laps, and were tasked with catching Team 1.
Team 3 started in The Gauntlet, where the following PT was to be completed by ALL PAX before they could leave it.
Station 1 – (2) Coupon Farmers Carry – 20 yards and back
Station 2 – 40lbs Sandbag toss – 20 yards and back
Station 3 – 60lbs Sandbag Clean / Press, and flip over head x8 reps
Station 4 – 80lbs Sandbag Carry – 20 yards and back
Station 5 – 120lbs Sandbag Dead lift x8 Reps
After leaving The Gauntlet, teams would complete 2 laps before entering again.
Thang 2 – Just a Ruck.
After about 40 minutes into the second Gauntlet, it was time for a change. All but 4 of the PAX at this beatdown already did The Gauntlet at the EBC, and I could tell it was time to switch things up. We then rucked to the top of the hill, and to the small pavillion where we did some PT, then back to the flags for Mary.

Circle of Trust
Being a part of F3 makes us all uncommon. Very few people get up and do what we do in the early hours of the morning, in the weather that we often find ourselves in. Within this group, we have MEN who push the pace in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd F’s. Making them even more uncommon. This morning we had MEN show up for a 15 Mile Overnight Ruck, complete an early morning beatdown, then stay for the double tap. Completing any one of these would make you uncommon. Completing two would put you in every more of an elite group, but finishing all three would make you the most uncommon of the uncommon in regards to the challenges presented that day.
I challenged the MEN to continue to find opportunities that pushed them to be uncommon, and then to pursue ways to set themselves apart from the people in that group. Be a leader of leaders. Be uncommon amongst the uncommon.
Naked Man Moleskin
This morning I was beat after completing all that I challenged myself with, and if I did not have to Q, I may not have stayed around. My ass was dragging, but as I looked around, I found that others were suffering along with me. I knew that the PAX would pull from my energy, so when we started this beatdown, I deliberately pushed the pace. Bob Villa showed up fresh and I made it my goal to make sure he did not beat me, so that mosey we started with turned into an all out sprint. Which continued into our team ruffling during the Gauntlet. The PAX drew on the energy and picked up their pace as well. Before I knew it we all were crushing this beatdown. Awesome work fellas! Proud to have been a part of this!
