Circle of Trust

Three years ago I shattered my tibia and fibula and will forever live with a metal rod in my leg. While it has limited some of the physical things I used to enjoy, the mental toughness of going through a grueling rehab has made me a stronger person.

We all wake up to do hard things and nothing is harder than waking up to post when you are injured or mashing from a mental standpoint. It is so easy to say screw it and roll over, or make an excuse why you cannot post. It is because of the support of the men of this region that those of us that have been hurt or injured have been able to recover and come back stronger. Pax will not let you stay away and will find ways to include you and push you to get stronger both physically and mentally.

We leave no man behind and we sure as hell do not leave him where we found him. I have been a part of this creedo on both ends as a pax, a site Q, and a member of SLT. The men who have helped me over the years know who they are and hopefully the men I have helped remember who I am. This is more than a workout group, this group supports pax on so many levels.

I do this leg day workout each year since my accident to remind myself how far I ‘ve come. There were days I never thought I would post again, let alone be able to run. The support from pax urging me to bike at a run club, site qs letting me know which plans would be good for me to modify at and making sure I never faded away from this group.

I shared a quote that is on my Road ID bracelet on my watch that says “ nothing is impossible” and I try to live each day remembering  that. While things may feel impossible, we can always find away with support to make anything possible.

Kudos to the men for pushing through leg day. You could see the pain and soreness in the faces of these men but they all pushed through it and will definitely feel this one tomorrow morning!
