Introduction

Due to some Super Bowl over-indulgence, I didn’t take my DRP this morning and I slept in.  Lucky for me though, we have a Monday evening option, and with no one on Q yet, I jumped at the opportunity to try to get right.  Since my Queen took over last night, we will be focusing on our King.  And since Monday is also President Lincoln’s birthday, we will have a little history lesson during CoT.  I arrived early to set-up and saw that Finch, Hank Hill, and Axl were on an EC-ruck.  Way to put in the extra work!  A few minutes before starting the WoR, an FNG that saw us online walked up to join us.

Warm-O-Rama

Jog in place while I went over the introduction and disclaimer.

Hit drill while I went over the mission, core principles, and credo.

Mosey the 1/4-mile run route for the workout.

Warm-up exercises: Good mornings, Abe Vigodas, tempo merkins, imperial squat walkers, TIE fighters.

The Thang

Set-up 4 cones in a long line with a gap of 15 yards between each cone.  Workout to be performed OYO.  At cone 1 you do burpees.  Cone 2: perfect merkins.  Cone 3: big boys.  Cone 4: Air squats.  The mode of transit between each cone is bear crawl.  After you get through with the 4 cones, you run a 1/4-mile lap around the parking lot and start again.  Round 1 you do 1 rep of each exercise.  Round 2 you do 2 reps of each exercise.  And so on.  The goal was to get through at least 7 rounds.  We were all successful, because we did round 7 all together as a group with different PAX taking turns leading the exercises.  Finished exactly at 6pm.

Circle of Trust

This is called the King workout because the goal was to gradually but consistently increase fitness level each round to “accelerate”.  We shouldn’t be merely just trying to stay in shape.  The goal each and every day is to accelerate to achieve more than what we previously accomplished.  This workout was done mostly OYO, but the last round we all did together to show that acceleration works much better in a group than as a singleton.  We were all completely gassed by the end, but we all helped push each other through round 7.

I also took a few minutes and talked about the many failures of President Lincoln, and how he was able to learn and grow from those failures to accomplish much and is now considered by many to be one of the best Presidents that our nation has had.

Naked Man Moleskin

Thanks Finch for having our 6 today.  Special thanks to Baby Momma who stuck with our FNG, Doogie Howser the whole time while I tried to push the front.  We are better with you Doogie!  And thanks to Fuzzy Navel for supplying some goodies after the workout.
