The Thang
Thang 1
Set up 4 cones in the parking lot. Run the long side, side shuffle short side, super mario back the long side, and side shuffle the short side. Do this for approx. 5+ minutes.
Indian Run from the parking lot towards the BB courts, around the big loop that goes around the pond and back to the path entrance of Mt. Wood.
Thang 2
The moving relay race.
1st runner begins running the loop and each runner will start running when the previous runner reaches the middle of the straight away. The last runner of that group will get a baton. The last runner will sprint until he reaches the runner in front of him and will pass him the baton. Each time you receive the baton you are to sprint to the runner in front of you to pass the baton. After you pass the baton you resume normal running pace until you receive the baton again.
We ran this once and modified as the gap between runners was too far.
Modification was Indian Run to Seil Road and back to flags.
Masher’s did a run/walk/run/walk around Mt. Wood.
Circle of Trust
For my Cot I wanted to talk about being in the right state of mind when pursuing your goals. This year I have set a few goals for myself when it comes to F3. The first is getting on the Valor flag with the most posts in a year, the 2nd goal is have a 10% post to Q ratio, and 3rd attend more black diamond BC’s, (once I finish my pursuit of the valor flag).
When I set on this journey for my 1st goal, I am not going to lie, it fuckin sucked! There were so many days I just wanted to stay in bed and just thought to myself, what am I doing?? What am I trying to prove? I have nothing to prove to anyone. But I was already up and knew that I would regret not going to a BC so I just got up and got ready. And everyday that I did this, I realized it wasn’t that bad. Every day has actually been fun for me. I either get a good ass kicking BC, or there’s great mumble chatter, I always enjoy listening to the CoT’s and of course I can’t go without the cafeteria. And like everyone says the hardest part is waking up. There has not been one day that I’ve come out and regretted it. Once I changed my mindset it’s been easier to get up and get after it.
With consistently posting I have caught myself not being mentally prepared at times for the boot camps. I’ve caught myself going through the motions, getting exhausted and realizing that I did not mentally prepare for the boot camp. Just last week Bunker lead a BC, I read NO RUNNING with coupon work and HC’d without putting much more thought into it. I had just given up my HIM coupon and started using my dragon clan big boy coupon. Through the first round of exercises I was already exhausted and struggling. I caught myself, realized and said out loud to Tinfoil that I was not mentally prepared for the BC today. Proud of myself that I caught it and actually vocalized it so that I could make the adjustment but also learn to be better prepared for future BC’s.
In essence we should be mentally prepared and in the right state of mind when pursuing your goals.
Aye?
Naked Man Moleskin
The spacing between runners was too far apart and LaRussa sprinted 2 laps around Mt. Wood before he was able to catch the next runner and hand off the baton. 1 or 2 more runners would have been ideal for this.
Appreciated the input and AAR while doing the moving relay race so that we could modify the run while still out on the field running.
Thank you to the 5 PAX that came out. Thank you to LaRussa for having my 6 and thank you Hangar for the coffee!
