Introduction
It was only my 3rd visit to The Silo since the launch.
It was a beautiful warm morning. And I dug deep in the Exicon for some of the movements, it was going to be fun!

The Thang
Thang 1
PAX number off 1’s & 2’s and form two lines facing each other approx. 35 meters apart with their coupons.
Both groups start at the same time and must perform 5 burpees, 5 merkins and 5 big boys before they run across to pick up a coupon at the other groups line and returns it to his line. Each time a PAX returns to his line with a coupon they must perform the PT again before grabbing another coupon. They continue this until the preset alarm goes off. Team with the most coupons on their side wins.
I set a timer of 10 minutes (without telling them the amount of time) and the competition began.
*Mashers modify burpees with a combination of air squats + grady corns or merkins.*
Winners take a victory lap around the small loop while losing team does blockees.
Once winners return we switch and losing team runs the loop while winning team does blockees.
*Mashers can walk in parking lot and perform Curl Press instead of blockees.*
Thang 2
11’s with WW3’s and Burp & Merk
WW3
Chest press to a big boy and over head press
Burp & Merk
Begin a traditional burpee with a single push up at the bottom, then complete. Drop back down for a second burpee with two push ups, then complete. Continue to add push ups to match number of burpees.
*Mashers modify burpees with a combination of air squats + grady corns or merkins.*
Circle of Trust
First of all I wanted to thank everyone for coming out on my AOVQ at The Silo, I truly appreciate the love and support.
I wanted to recognize and show my appreciation to all the MEN that came out to MASH. For most of us that are at 100% physically it’s hard enough to wake up to come out to the gloom, now put yourself in the shoes of those that are mashing. It is so easy for them to stay home knowing that they are injured but these MEN chose to still wake up, come out and get after it!
Every morning we recite the disclaimer, I am not aware of any injuries…modify the exercises if you need to but do not modify the effort. Now think about that…
Next time you see someone cutting reps, not doing full motions, not running as hard as you know they can, don’t be so quick to judge and criticize, I ask you to empathize, check to see if they are okay. Most of us are dealing with nagging injuries and continue to push making small modifications without announcing it to the group. I know I am guilty of calling people out at times and I need to do better. So I ask all of you to do better, next time don’t be so quick to throw a jab or call someone out before knowing what another PAX is going through.

Apologies to Olive Oyl for not understanding his AAR at first. But it was great feed back once it was thoroughly explained, his recommendation was on modifying the team competition. Breaking it down into 2 – 5 minute competitions vs 1 long 10 minute competition. And special thanks to Vern for having my six!
