Introduction
Realized last minute that we’d be rucking through the snow along the I&M Canal. We could have kept our feet dry and rucked through the neighborhood but since there are no sidewalks didn’t think it was safe to ruck in the streets with cars driving through the snow.

Circle of Trust
A few weeks ago, I checked in on a PAX that had been regularly posting but all of a sudden stopped right after RG. He informed me that his work schedule was part of the reason, but also told me that he had caught COVID. He told me that he truly appreciated that I checked in on him, but at the same time he was disappointed that I have been the only one that ever checks in on him.
I want to reiterate that we should continue to reach out to other PAX. Regardless if the PAX is posting everyday or hasn’t posted in a while. It’s always a good thing to check in on other PAX. And the reason I also bring it up is because of my personal experience. These last 2-3 weeks, I’ve been in a funk, I’m not sure if it’s the Holiday Blues or what but I just haven’t really been motivated to come out. Most of you know that I try and post 7-9 times a week, the last 2 weeks I really haven’t come out with much enthusiasm, last week I posted 3 days, 2 of them days was because of the obligation to be the Site Q, otherwise I’d probably have stayed home. On Saturday, after the last BC, I received the following DM from a PAX:
“Hey Meta, great catching up with you this morning! You’ve been such a big influence on me. Just wanted to say how much I appreciate you brother.”
That message alone lifted my spirits, and not so much of what was said but just the fact that he checked in and motivated me to continue to come out. We all find motivation in each other, whether we say it or not, but it’s nice when you actually hear it.
Naked Man Moleskin
The dark scary trail had Soccermom on high alert. The dog prints he saw on the ground looked like mountain lion tracks or wolf tracks to him, the geese in the canal jump scared him at one point, it was very amusing.
