Introduction
This morning was a struggle to get up. I didn’t sleep well and really wasn’t looking forward to the ass whooping I knew Bob Villa had planned for us, but I forced myself out of my funk and leaned into my routine to get me out the door. Once I arrive at the AO, I could see the other PAX beginning to circle and mentally prep’d myself for “The Board”. The mumblechatter was on point as we all greeted each other, and as the time ticked away, we started to wonder if if the Q was going to be on time in the typical Bob Villa fashion, or if someone else was going to have to jump in. Well as it turned out, we needed someone to take the lead, and I figured, why not me. Here we go!
Warm-O-Rama
SSH YOY until disclaimer, core principals, and credo were completed
Tappy Taps x10 IC
Mountain Climbers x15 IC
Hairy Rockettes x10 IC
A quick parking lot lap for YHC to gauge a running loop as I quickly assembled a Q, then OYO stretching as I shared my plan.
The Thang
Thang 1 – THREE Corners
Course was a parking lot loop starting at the south east corner of the lot, run north to painted yellow walkway, head west to driveway, then back south to the curb, before returning to the start.
At Corner first corner
15 Blockee’ss OYO
15 Thrusters OYO
Run 3-Corners of route. At 3rd corner do 15 Merkins and 15 Big Boys
Run 3 more corners, Stop and do 15 Merkins and 15 Big Boys. Rise and Repeat until three corners land you back at corner with our coupons. At this corner, you guessed it, PAX were directed to do 15 Blockee’s and 15 Thrusters, then to continue their 3-Corner routine, until YHC calls it.
As we completed this routine, I ask each of the 8 MEN, to take turns picking up our SIX for a lap. This allowed us to share in this honor and mixed up the mummblechatter as the beatdown progressed.
Mary
Since the Thang had a good mix of ABS already, we circled up for only the last few minutes. Once circled, I asked the PAX to help be give them a TEN count. I then stated “The next exercise is Burpees”. It was at this moment they knew we were not going to take the easy route. We did 10 burpees IC, then had time for a 2 merkin ring of fire before the SQ called it.
Circle of Trust
Here in F3 Plainfield, we share a weekly quote. This weeks quote is “Success last year doesn’t entitle you to success this year.” I restated this quote and reconfirmed the validity of this quote. I also reminded the PAX, that last years failures, burdens, trials, and any feeling of anxiety, despair, or concern that may go along with them are also not guaranteed in the new year. These to can and should be work on so they we all can be released of their burdens.
Naked Man Moleskin
Glad to hear all is well with BV. Penalty burpees will be paid… IYKYK
