Introduction

Happy Birthday to me…Happy birthday to me….What better way to kick off YHC’s birthday then working out on this beautiful fall morning!

Warm-O-Rama

We did various stretching (SSHs, Good Mornings, Mountain Climbers, Mosey, etc.)  though a majority of the PAX had already worked out at EBC so they were plenty warm (maybe a little sore)

The Thang

The Thang was all about the number 55.  Whether that be reps or the yards traveled.  A full body beatdown.

Thanks Juanita for covering the announcements and having our 6.  TaPs were completed.  COT was similar to last years birthday Q with one minor change….my numbers…

 

What’s Your Numbers?

We all have numbers. mine are now 55.  55 years old.  Each year we celebrate a birthday and each successive year our numbers increase by 1.  Men, let’s not fool ourselves, they’re just numbers.  Right?  Exactly!  Our age is often used as a qualifier for many things like when we can legally vote, legally drive a vehicle, join the military, legally buy our first beer, and even when if we qualify for AARP.  Our  numbers are often used by some to assume things about us like being more mature, being stronger, being faster, being weaker, being slower,  wing wiser, more experienced,  and even being too young or too old..  You know, I can’t recall the number of times when someone has asked me how old I am, and I literally have to do some funny sort of math to come to an answer.  You know why?  I don’t really put much stock into what my number  It’s not a big deal to me. I have no idea what a 55 year old is supposed to look or feel like and to be perfectly honest  I don’t really care.  Why?  Because my numbers do not define me.  They are…just a set of numbers.  We mention our numbers each time at the Name o Rama.  For some those numbers represent our diversity, they identify who might be similar to us, or to some those numbers may even serve as inspiration and motivation.  In the end, they are what they are… a set of numbers… mine are now 55.  I will never let my new numbers and any future numbers define me, and I would encourage you to to do the same.  Aye!!

Naked Man Moleskin

Great push by all the MEN!  A few things that stuck out.  First, Peterbilt (who is 71 years old) double-tapped for the first time.  A discussion the day before where he relayed that he was trying to get to 100 posts before he headed out of town.  I mentioned he could double tap on Saturday plus it was my birthday  Q so he made the commitment to double-tap.  He started in June 2023, has lost 30 pounds and the dude is 71.  I don’t think he cares much how old he is.  Also he had no idea that the regular workouts on Saturday are one hour long.  The second is we learned that on 11’s that if you add up 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 that it equals 55.  Who knew????  Truly appreciate the MEN that came out to my birthday Q and also all those that wished me a HBD either in-person, through messaging, and or both.  Appreciate ya!
