Introduction

No one had claimed this Q as of the morning before, so the site Q (Picasso) was about to take it, but I didn’t want to leave him hanging, so I decided to grab it.  Dilly Dilly has been leading monthly 1st F challenges this year.  I’ve been very impressed by the men who have completed these challenges.  I’ve tried a few of them but could never quite keep up with it for the month for various reasons (some good reasons, some bad reasons).  So, I had an idea to incorporate those monthly challenges into a black diamond.  As a reminder, here’s a list of the monthly challenges this year so far: January (1000 burpees), February (4 hours of planking), March (10k merkins), April (5k squats), May (100 miles), June (1k pull-ups), July (55k jump ropes), August (10k big boys), September (4 hours of wall sits), October (10 min/day burpees).

Warm-O-Rama

High knees while I went over the introduction and disclaimer.

SSH while I went over the F3 mission, core principles, and credo.

Mosey to the pavilion.

The Thang

The format is 10 minutes of 2 alternating exercises (1 minute at a time), and then run a lap around the pond (0.85-miles).  3 rounds of this were completed before Mary.

Round 1: Wall sits / squats

Round 2: Perfect merkins / jump ropes

Round 3: Burpees / pull-ups (modified)

Round 4 (Mary): High plank hold / Big boys

Circle of Trust

I just talked about how my wife and I had a nice Saturday evening around the fire just talking about a bunch of things while my daughter was at the homecoming dance.  We talked about how different it is going to be once she graduates and leaves to do her own thing.  It will be back to just being my wife and I again.  We love our daughter, but ultimately, if you are doing things right, you are raising your kids for them to leave you.  Your M however (again if you are doing things right) will always be there with you, and you need to make sure to keep that relationship strong.

Naked Man Moleskin

Thanks Picasso for having our 6 and pushing the pace during the running.  Max effort from Sparkler and Second City as well.  No time to catch our breath at all during this beatdown.  I received really good feedback during AAR.  Specifically, I had pull-ups as part of this workout, but there was really no good place to do pull-ups where I had us set-up, so we all had to modify.  I should have either moved us, or picked a different exercise.  It was a great point.  I tried to fit a specific exercise into a specific location….like a square peg in a round hole.  I should’ve changed that one part.  Lesson learned.  Never stop learning and getting better.
