CoT:
- Plant, Grow, & Serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership. That is our mission with a clear task & a purpose. Missions like this are not accomplished overnight they are accomplished through “waypoints” like steppingstones 43 feet out in front along the way to working towards the mission. As individuals on our leadership journey to help the group accomplish that mission, we have waypoints as well & we refer to that in F3 as the G3L. The G3L is very prescriptive in its pathway to being a virtuous leader. A man must “Get Right” before he can do anything else b/c a man who has not got right 1st is like a capsized boat struggling to survive & not able to help anyone into their boat. Once a man has got right, he must start living right. Exemplifying the habits/routines of someone that has got right & being the best father, son, husband, friend they can be. Only then can a man truly “Lead Right” through effective leadership by casting vision, articulating, persuading, & exhorting while at the same time being virtuous through the 5 C’s. Ultimately men we are all working towards the 4th Q weather we want to acknowledge it or not in “leave right”. Mortality is a tough thing to contemplate but weather your 18 or 68 it is never to early to think about your legacy. How will people remember you; will they exemplify you when you are gone, will your kids be functioning members of society, will those you impacted in your life continue to follow your lead when you are gone?
- This is powerful stuff men & it is not easy. The G3L is not a check the box exercise & you move on. Throughout your life you will find yourself accelerating to another quadrant while in difficult times may find yourself slipping back to another quadrant. My challenge to you men is 3-fold: assess where you are at on the G3L, share your self-evaluation with a shield lock or confidant, & build a plan to start accelerating through the G3L ultimately leaving your legacy on those around you. AYE!
