Introduction
YHC was excited to get out for a run with the temp already sitting around 70 at 0500 in the morning. I had originally planned a two Thang run, but when I stopped by to check the conditions of Mt. Wood, I found it to be too soggy and decided to pivot to just an out and back group run. Also, while we weren’t receiving any lightning strike notifications via our weather apps, I was slightly concerned with the cloud-to-cloud lightning, so I also took that into consideration as I adjusted our run course.
Warm-O-Rama
Had everyone jog in place while I covered the disclaimer, core principles, mission, and creedo.
- Harry Rockette’s (x10)
- Good mornings/nights (x8)
- Tie fighters (10 fwd, 10 bwd)
The Thang
As I noted in the intro, we pivoted to a simple out and back run allowing us to get 4.2 miles in and kept the group together for the whole run. Great mumble chatter along the way helped to make this even more enjoyable this morning.
Circle of Trust
Nothing profound from me this morning, just asked everyone to reach out to someone who you’ve noted has dropped off from showing up ITG. Jellystone took it to the next level by even encouraging us to dig into the PAX tracker spreadsheet to get a phone number and text them (since we know some men aren’t using Slack much).
Naked Man Moleskin
Even though we have Site Q’s who are responsible for making weather calls, it never hurts as the Q to gauge everyone’s comfort level when inclement weather is on the horizon. I believe it shows your brothers you care and is a sign of a servant leader.
