Introduction

Been bouncing around the region this week as part of the Bob Villa Battalion. Honestly, while we’re getting our asses kicked, it has been a BLAST and YHC was pumped to lead this morning.

Warm-O-Rama

  • Motivators (from 6)
  • Good mornings/nights x8
  • Upper body twist stretch (10 count)
  • Lower body leg stretch (10 count)
  • Tie fighters (forward/reverse) x10

The Thang

Thang 1:
After WoR, as a group we moseyed around the entire parking lot/campus area, then returned back to where we started, grabbed our rucks/vests and headed to the track.

Thang 2:
As a group, we knocked out a two-lap slingshot run around the track.

Thang 3:
At the conclusion of the second lap of the slingshot run, we grabbed our rucks/vests and completed two laps. At this point the PAX separated into their own groups and we followed the same pattern of 2 laps w/o weight, then 2 laps with weight until Mary.

Mary:
Rotated through flutter kicks, LBCs, holding high plank/low plank, then eventually high plank balance with left are out in front and right leg raised straight out, then switched and held until 6.

Circle of Trust

In the category of “I wish I knew or had thought of this before”, I shared a few things I learned about my parents financial health following my Dad’s recent passing.

My step-mother’s income level is taking a substantial hit given that she’ll no longer receive any amount of his military retirement, she’ll still receive his social security, but loses hers, she’s most likely only going to get 40% of his disability (settlement from his time in service/Vietnam), and given that he has been disabled since 2000, he only had a small life insurance policy. It’s hard enough to lose your loved one, but to have to watch my step-mother have to navigate the unknown is almost as heart-breaking.

With all that said, I wanted to share this with my brothers present this morning, so that “IF”  they haven’t yet discussed their parents financial wellness (or their own families) I strongly encouraged them to do so ASAP.

Naked Man Moleskin

I loved the energy that I continue to see from the MEN participating in the BV Battalion and am especially humbled to see MEN pushing through pain, aches, etc that I KNOW they have, in order to be ITG with their brothers.
