Introduction

Got to the AO early enough to set up in the workout in the sand volleyball pit and in the cut through path along the paved pathway then meet a couple other PAX for a 1.8 mile EC run. We had a great turnout for the sophmore BC at The Silo.

The Thang

Before breaking WoR we counted off by two and paired up with a partner. We then moseyed to the sand pit and put our copuons down.

Thang 1: In order to show the PAX another part of the brand new AO, I took them on a little diversion to the beginning of a cut-through path along the main pathway. 5 lights were spread out along this path about 30 yards apart. As a group, we did a 1 to 5 then 5 to 1burpee ladder at each light, running between each light. We then returned to the sand pit.

Thang 2: At the sand pit was a partner DORA made up of all exercises that suck to do in sand. While one partner was doing the exercise, the other partner bear crawled to the end of the court then crab walked back. The exerci were as follows:

Coupon Thrusters x 50

Merking Climbers x 100

Bobby Hurley x 150

Catalina Wine Mixer x 200

Apolo Ohno x 250

Circle of Trust

Talked about the importance of asking for forgiveness. Too often we say sorry for something we did wrong but we don’t ask the one we hurt for forgiveness. It’s also too convenient to simply say sorry then move on. Asking for, and receiving, forgiveness adds an entirely deeper meaning to the act of contrition. I mentioned a recent instance when I lied to my wife and asked for her forgiveness, which was thankfully accepted. She did not excuse my offense but her willingness to pardon me for it without requiring anything in return left an incredible feeling with both of us.

Naked Man Moleskin

Working out in the sand sucks. Every movement we did was made 10 times harder in sand than on pavement. I will defeinitely go back to the sand again after recovering a bit!
