Introduction
It was an unseasonably warm morning as I pulled up to join Toby & Belding on a quick warm up to grab some burgers. Good mummble chatter was had & an unbelief the Cowboys kicker missed 4 extra points!!! We cruised back in as the men showed up & we quickly got to work. It was nice to see from last night the group grew from 6 to 9 b/c the Indian Run was not going to be fun with a small group.

- Muhammad Ali’s birthday. He had some of the most memorable & inspirational quotes ever & I wanted to reflect on 2.
- “It isn’t the mountains ahead that wear you down. It’s the pebble in your shoe.” What he is telling us is stop fixating on that larger goal & start focusing on the daily grind that is going to get you there. It is not the vision that holds you back it is the steps that takes you to get there. If you have read Atomic Habits this is a great book that talks about creating those small habits that can help you accomplish your larger goals.
- “The will must be stronger than the skill” Men you must believe in yourself. You must believe in yourself than anyone else does. That is why it is important to set goals that no one else believes you can achieve to continue to build self confidence. You can have all the skill in the world but if you don’t believe in yourself your skills amount to nothing. Look at Ali, he literally willed himself to a lot of his victories & some people considered him arrogant but it was just a belief in himself that he could do it.
- My challenge to all of you is to start focusing on small goals that will help you reach the larger goal & start believing in yourself by betting on yourself & do something really hard. AYE!!
