Introduction
I indulged at Thanksgiving quite a bit, so I got off to a bit of a slow start this morning. When I’m the site Q on Friday, I usually try to get to the Olympiad early enough before the rest of the PAX show up, but today Bunny Hill beat me there…and he even joked with me that for a second he thought he had the wrong day. Octomom and Pull-Up arrived shortly after, but as 5:15 crept up, we started to realize our Q, Bob Villa, was nowhere to be found. So, when 5:15 hit, I led us in the warmup, thanking that maybe Bobby V. was just a few minutes behind, stuck at a train maybe.
Warm-O-Rama
I started off with the disclaimer language, and went through the F3 mission, core principles, and credo.
WoR:
Mosey around the parking lot with high knees, butt kickers, and side shuffles mixed in.
Abe Vigodas IC x 10
Tappy Taps IC x 10
Calf Stretch 10-count hold each leg
Leg swings IC x 10 each leg
The Thang
At the end of warm-up, I told the group that Bob Villa’s plan was to do a neighborhood run, so we did just that. Octomom wasn’t familiar with the normal route at the Olympiad, so I gave a quick description. Pull-Up and Octomom ran together and I ran with Bunny Hill. Big thanks to Pull-Up for reminding me to grab my head lamp for the dark path areas.
We finished back at the flags with a couple minutes to spare and were able to get a few stretches in before 6am.
Circle of Trust
Since I didn’t have a COT planned, I recalled something Gopher told me recently…you can always just talk about QSource. Bingo. We talked about Teamwork and Family.
Naked Man Moleskin
Shout out to Bunny Hill who is crushing run club. He was telling me he had a future goal of breaking 10-minutes/mile pace for a run club, and we nearly got there today. Keep it up!
