Circle of Trust

Here I reflected on who F3 has molded my perspective when it comes to taking action.  We preach on how we work to invigorate male community leadership, and I can attest to how it has impacted me.  The old me, was pretty passive, and not really looking for ways to impact my community, and like most really didnt do much to go out of the way to help.  Sure I would hold a door, give a pleasant smile, and lend a hand when a buddy or family member needed it.  That was about the extent of it.  Since F3, I have found myself, subconsciously,  finding ways to be more engaged and looking for opportunity to impact others, especially strangers.  Most recently, my wife told me that a mom who made a plea for help on our neighborhood Facebook page looking for someone, really anyone, who could help board up a window that was completely blown out.  I knew I could help, I had the tools and most likely the material, so I offered to stop by.  This poor woman had glass throughout her family room, furniture displaced and was trying to clean up the mess.  All while the wind and rain continued.  She was in a tough spot, but was really trying to hold it together.  In short, I was able to cut some plywood and board up the window.

I tell this story not because I’m looking for a pat on the back, but to give you all the recognition.  You see, without F3, I would not have taken that action.  I would have been indifferent.  Compassionate, but indifferent to this strangers situation.  I took action, only because I am surrounded by ACTION people ITG each morning.  You all have impacted my life and the way i see situations, and for that I am grateful.
