The Thang

Thang 1: fun with toys on the hill

We made the short ruck from WoR to DG Hill.

First iteration up the hill men did ruck drags. Those that wore weighted vests drug sandbags up the hill.

At the top of the hill we did a variety of exercises chosen by the PAX.

Second iteration up the hill we did the Nuts-to-Butts centipede up this hill.

  1. Thang 2: Ruck of the AO

Thang 3: Duck, duck, sandbag. Had the men sit in a circle shoulder-to-shoulder. We then passed around a 60# sandbag. After passing the sandbag to the right, each man ran around the circle and made their way back to their spot with the intent of keeping the sandbag moving without stopping the momentum.

Circle of Trust

I asked everyone to give me a one word adjective that described how they were feeling at the end of RDG week 2. We had words ranging from stronger, tired, invigorated, etc. I offered up my word and tied it back to a recent QSource, “Committed”!

I shared that being committed means making informed decisions on what level of commitment is needed for competing priorities and that balancing commitments to family, F3 workouts, work (mammon), etc. should not be taken lightly.

My example was how I made the decision to put a home project (that my M and I needed to get done this weekend) ahead of me participating in EC/BC on Friday morning. I knew I had a small window of time and I needed the strength to get the project started Friday morning.

You can stay committed to all of the things important in your life, you just need balance.
