Introduction
With the winter season closing in on us we need to take advantage of The Wood’s greatest asset, The Hill.
I immediately regretted everything I Q’d up for the beat down.. lot’s of moaning.. legs were smoking.. a few F-you-Millville’s were tossed out into the gloom… so with that being said the beat down was an incredible success.. Everyone came out better/stronger than when they showed up.

The Thang
Partner Farmer Carry Dora
Circuit 1
- Partner 1 farmer carries both coupons up the hill. At the top Partner 1 does 10 thrusters w/ one of the coupons then farmer carries back down to partner 2.
- Partner 2 does American hammers while waiting for partner 1 then switches with partner 1 when he returns.
- After both partners complete farmer carry & American hammer circuit they sprint up the hill together perform 15 jump squats then sprint back down the hill.
Circuit 2
- Partner 1 farmer carries both coupons up the hill. At the top Partner 1 does 10 thrusters w/ one of the coupons then farmer carries back down to partner 2.
- Partner 2 does LBC’s while waiting for partner 1 then switches with partner 1 when he returns.
- After both partners complete farmer carry & LBC circuit they sprint up the hill together perform 15 jump squats then sprint back down the hill.
Circuit 3

- Partner 2 does leg raises while waiting for partner 1 then switches with partner 1 when he returns.
- After both partners complete farmer carry & leg raises circuit they sprint up the hill together perform 15 jump squats then sprint back down the hill.

- Partner 1 farmer carries both coupons up the hill. At the top Partner 1 does 10 thrusters w/ one of the coupons then farmer carries back down to partner 2.
- Partner 2 does big boys while waiting for partner 1 then switches with partner 1 when he returns.
- After both partners complete farmer carry & big boy circuit they sprint up the hill together perform 15 jump squats then sprint back down the hill.

Thoughts: Work has been stressful this week. Longer working hours on top of all the physical exercise has left me with little gas in the tank and very little patience. Being on edge I became short/snappy with my M and engaged in an argument that wasn’t worth the breath it took to express “my point”.. It’s easy for men to take their stress to their families and lose sight of what is suppose to be at the center of our concentrica… our M’s. It takes a strong, disciplined man to wake up every morning to put in the physical work that we do in the gloom, but it takes an even stronger and more disciplined man to keep his mouth shut, swallow his pride and have compassion with his family.. We all have a “point” and a lot of conviction behind it, but none of it is worth the relationships with our families… Care for our families, listen, be present and when the weight of the world is on your shoulders don’t displace it on your family… That weight is ours to bare and it’s our responsibility to take the heavy hits so our families can have good lives. In other words, when things get tough find another HIM talk it out, then suck it up and rub some dirt on it.
