The Thang
Ran as a group to PCHS, did some snake runs over the mounds on the west end of the parking lot, then made our way to Electric Park. Turned the group around there and on the way back to the start, swung through the lot and ran over the mounds again. Made it back to the start, ran a lap around the lot, then finished up a few MoM with flutter kicks and scissor kicks. In all we got in just over 3 miles as a group.
Circle of Trust
I recently started reading David Goggins’ book “Can’t Hurt Me” and found a nice 4-minute inspirational clip on YouTube titled “THE 4 MINUTE SPEECH THAT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE“. I played the first 1:30 of the video for us all to listen to, then I shared my thoughts as a follow up to his statement “you want to be uncommon among common people”.
Man did I live this when I was in the military! I was in a very small part of the population percentage that was serving for a greater purpose than oneself. It was easy to feel like you were living his message! Since retiring, I’ve struggled to find how I can live uncommon among common people, in fact, in the nearly six years since my retirement, I feel I’ve become “common”, which is definitely NOT the direction I want for my life.
This gift of F3 provides me opportunities to LEAD, SERVE, GROW, and DEVELOP others… important aspects of which made me what I was while serving in the military, and every bit if it has reignited the fire in my soul to be UNCOMMON among common people!
See, that’s it MEN, whether you knew it or not, you have a gift right in front of you that allows you every opportunity to serve, grow, develop, lead and live uncommon as a brother in F3!
So, what are you going to do about it?
Naked Man Moleskin
Sometimes an EC with just one brother is a blessing as it allows men to open up and be vulnerable. Letting that guard down is key to unlocking a step toward healing, closure, understanding, etc. Keep that in mind as you look for opportunities to share what’s eating you.
