Introduction

Noticed on Thursday there was an still open Q position at Da Grizz (not sure why as this is the best AO we have as fara as space and facilities go) so instead of waiting to see if another PAX was going to pick it up, I grabbed it.  I generally like to plan my Q’s, but knew Da Grizz had plenty of opportunities to get a good beatdown in so LFG!

Warm-O-Rama

The Warm-O-Rama consisted of SSH, Harry Rockettes, Tappy Taps, and Arm Circles.  Picasso was coming in hot as he found out the AO is a little bit further of a drive  then he had thought and was able to get some arm circles in just before the beatdown kicked off.  On that subject, yes the Da Grizz is a bit of a drive for many of us (20 plus minutes for YHC) but that doesn’t mean each of us can’t make the effort to support it from time to time!  We don’t show up for ourselves, we show up for the man to our left and to our right and in some cases you may on occasion have to drive a little farther than normal to support that man.  So LFG!

The Thang

We kicked of the Thang with some Q Led burpees and then left the flag area and headed up Woods Drive and made a stop at the top to do some Air Squats in cadence.  Left that area and proceeded West.  Making a few stops along the way the PAX performed Hand Release Merkins, Mountain Climbers.  As we moved as a group South West we stopped at the workout area near the maintenance buildings.  Pax took advantage of the wall that surrounds the workout area where we performed step ups in cadence.  The PAX then took advantage of the workout equipment and performed planks, squat holds, bar holds, pullups, irkins, reverse lat pulls,  and hanging leg raises.  Pax left this area going around the maintenance building and heading northeast to the stairs where we performed sets of lowered elevation (stance) stair climbs and every other step climbs.  After burning out our legs we started to head back towards the flag area stopping to do some SSHs, and hand release merkins in cadence of which YHC varied the cadence speed.  Returning to the flag area we took advantage of the Woods Drive hill and did a bear crawl up/jog down, short run up/jog down, and walking lunges up/final jog down and then returned to the flag area. Closed the workout with varied cadence speed of shoulder taps and arm circles finishing with flutterkicks and leg raises.

Circle of Trust

Ozark shared the announcements and I mentioned that we will shortly have a few AO shirts with  a color option other than black that will be available for purchase from MudGear.  Thanked the men for showing up and deciding to get better this morning.  Spoke briefly about this gift we have and not to be shy about sharing it with others.  Don’t need to be an Amway salesman, but don’t hold back in inviting men to a free workout.  Closed out with TAPS.

Naked Man Moleskin

I heard a comment towards the end of the beatdown that this was a leg day workout which for the most part it was though not intended. It wasn’t a complaint by any stretch, but it made me pivot at the end of the beatdown and throw in some shoulder burn just to round out the workout.  It always okay to pivot should it be necessary or in this case to spice things up a little.  Listen to the PAX…..Asked Cowbell when he was going to Q and he mentioned something about he had been thinking about it.  He now has the Q Signup app loaded on his phone so  he knows he will mess up, he knows he likely won’t sleep much the night before his VQ…..I would expect a VQ from him very soon.  What’s the date of your VQ Cowbell?
