Introduction
52-degrees and breezy. Starting to feel like Fall. I arrive around 4:50am to start setting up, and saw Blue Gill was already there and warming up. The other PAX started rolling in shortly after. We set up signs, lights, and coupons in the grass right outside the fence line of the track, and then made our way back over to the flags for WoR.
Warm-O-Rama
The beatdown was to begin right at 5:15am, so I encouraged everyone to show up early to warm-up, with a quick WoR at 5:10am. Started with the disclaimer language (I am not a professional…).

Circle of Trust
I told my story about hitting myself in the face (almost directly into my right eye) with the end of the shovel flag after last week’s run club at the Olympiad on Friday. It was dumb and embarrassing and not really something I wanted to discuss with others. I figured ice and advil would take care of it. I was in a lot of pain, and concerned I might have done more damage to my eye than I realized, but I didn’t really want to go to a doctor. I went to Da Grizz that Saturday morning, and Hanger put me in touch with Cataracts (eye doctor), who I had never met before, but took the time out of his weekend to talk to me and look at pictures and assure me I would be OK after a few more days of rest. Two points I want to make:
- Be careful taking those shovel flags out of the ground. I wanted to pass along the lesson learned to the group.
- F3 has an awesome network of HIMs. Don’t be afraid or shy to reach out and ask for help if needed, for any number of things.
We finished in prayer for those with injuries, illnesses, and struggles in general (job losses, etc.).

Thanks to Soft Hands, Bunker, Blue Gill, and Meta who helped me with set-up today with music, lights, signs, etc. Lots of words of encouragement went around today. Special shout-out to Soft Hands for having my six, and Blue Gill for helping me finish the final round and giving me some great tips on form.
