Introduction
Woke up early so decided to get an early ruffle in prior to the beatdown. As I ventured back the men were slowing rolling in making determination on amount of weight & sand bags they wanted to bring out to test their COURAGE. After some quick mumble chatter we got to work quickly!

COURAGE, defined in F3 as “setting aside fear to turn hardship into grace”. It is important to note that courage is not the absence of fear, it is a natural state that must be governed. I think back to my 1st Q & how nervous & fearful I was. It was that fear that motivated me to be the best prepared I could be. This idea of courage starts in the “Get Right” phase b/c no man can lead courageously if he is not accelerating himself in the Royal Race managing the King/Queen/Jester. In F3 we say that fatigue makes cowards of us all. The last point around courage is turning hardship into grace. A virtuous leader will constantly set aside his fears & seek out “doing hard things” & it is these hard things that we can accomplish that turn that hardship into grace. My challenge to all of you men is this, ask yourself what are you fearful of? Why do you fear that thing? State out loud to somebody or multiple people a fear you are going to take head on (signing up to Q for the first time, doing a 5K, volunteering at your church/kid’s school, signing up for GTE30). Update your progress publicly towards accomplishing that hardship & go kick life in the nuts. AYE!
