Circle of Trust
I talked about my M and I visiting our daughter in Madison WI over the weekend. She has been dealing with a lot of change in her life recently and has been having some self-esteem issues. Our visit was in part to simply to enjoy our time with her and have a good time in a fun town but also to talk with her about the challenges she’s facing. It was not part of my plan going into the conversation to suggest daily, or at least regular, self-affirmation but I’m thankful it went in that direction. I think she began to recognize and appreciate the many more positive things in her life than the temporary and fleeting struggles she’s experiencing now. I wanted to share this story in my COT because I think all of us, many of whom have been around the block a few times, can also benefit from some self-affirming words, behaviors, and actions.
