Introduction

Because the deluge of rainstorms we got this week we had to modify at Run Club on Wednesday at the Ridge and instead of doing hill repeats led by @Dauber, we did just a normal run. I decided that the guys who ran on Wednesday might benefit from some speed work on the track.

Warm-O-Rama

Warm-up was pretty simple, SSH, dynamic quad stretches, and squatros or praying mantis. I wanted to leave as much as possible for the thang. We started the thang with a 800 warm-up before hitting the intervals.

The Thang

4 sets: OYO

400 @ 5Kpace

100 mosey

800 @ 10Kpace

Nearly all of the PAX were able to finish the sets, the fastest did it in about 36-37 minutes and the last one to finish did it in 39 minutes. I believe 1 PAX was short and started the last 800, but wasn’t able to finish in time.

Circle of Trust

Talked about how our kids echo back to us just about everything we do and say. It was a life-changing moment when our son was just 3 and asked for “a calendar” and “a job” for Christmas. My wife and I realized what we spent most of our time talking about and started making a conscious decision to talk about things that were more important around our kids.

Yesterday, I saw some of the fruit of that when my 7th grade daughter was running in a CC meet and during the race she started walking backwards to try and encourage one of her friends to keep up. At first I started to yell, “go” then caught myself and realized that there was something more important happening in witnessing her live into the values we had been trying to impart on her.

During prayer we prayed for Dandelion’s family and his recent death.

Naked Man Moleskin

I’m thankful for the support of the PAX who came out and let me Q. It was only my third time doing it, but was encouraged by the guys and got some helpful feedback from them.
