Prelude: Figure Eight Indian Run around and in between Troy Middle School and Orenic Intermediate School.

Main Event:

  • PAX gathered on the track, where a whiteboard listed the following exercises:
    • 25 Thrusters
    • 50 Chest Press
    • 25 Lion Kings
    • 50 Rows
    • 25 OHP
    • 50 Curls
    • 25 Swings
    • 50 Coupon Squats
    • 25 Merkins
    • 100 SSHs
  • 4 PAX started at the top of the list and 1 PAX ran around the track, stopping at each of 3 cones to perform 3 burpees.
  • When the first PAX finished his lap, he jumped right in to the exercises, where the group was at, and PAX #2 took off for his lap.
  • The 5 PAX each ran one lap and the fifth lap finished right as we hit 100 SSHs.
  • We then ran a group lap, in the reverse direction, to unwind and get our energy back.
  • Then we did the whole thing again but in reverse order (starting with the 100 SSHs) and substituting 5 big boys for the 3 burpees at the cones.

Finale: We ran one last lap, stopping at each cone for some leg PT.

Circle of Trust

RDG is over and it’s December in Illinois. The weather sucks, it’s dark out, and it’s tempting to get down, and want to stay in bed and stop coming out to the gloom. Some guys can really struggle this time of year, and I am this year. Doctors would call it Seasonal Affective Disorder, I just call it winter, but whatever you call it, it can suck. But things can be done:

  • Getting outside and moving. You all chose to do so this morning – keep doing it. If it starts to feel harder, remember what you HC means. Get on the Q sheet – that commitment is even stronger. Do something to make sure you show up here.
  • Stay connected. Isolation makes these feelings worse, but fellowship can make those feelings go away. Reach out to someone if you’re getting down – or if you’re not, reach out to someone you haven’t seen in a while.
  • Choose gratitude. Cold mornings make it easy to get negative, but gratitude rewires the brain. Think about what you have to be thankful for. Your health, your family, the fact
that you’ve got a crew crazy enough to run in the snow with you.

Naked Man Moleskin

Special thanks to Sizzler for handling SQ duties today.

Congratulations to Hank Hill – 2 year manniversary!!!!

Good push by all this morning.  My legs were shaking during Lion Kings on the second time through those exercises.  Very close to failure, but we made it!!!!
