Introduction
Best way to go back to school is with some miles before hand. TC is the best place for me to do this on a Monday. With many of us trying to get our miles in, I expected a solid crowd. Did a little EC with Singer, and Mahomes and Moist showed up halfway through. We ran my typical route up to downtown via river, east to 59, down to commerical. doubling back via ottawa and then back to river to head back to TC. This route is an easy three and can be added to to get more. Moist and I got about 3.5 Singer and Mahomes got 4.
Right now with the humidity it just takes longer to run longer. Singer both affirmed this and also gave me a suggestion to focus more on the length of time running rather than the miles.
Warm-O-Rama
I did not want to do SSH or motivators because I was warm and most of us ECd. those that didn’t are experienced runners.
We did the good mornings. everyone moaned in glory since everyone loves that. We did imperial walkers and hairy rockettes. We finished with a partner standing calf stretch. Always a better way than getting on the ground.
Cindy was freaked out since I was half naked.
The Thang
Out and back to settlers. Run there, hit the loops and come back. for me this is usually run there, run the short loop and back. I was looking for 3-3.5 miles. Staying in primarily zone 2 today. Hard to do when humid so it makes me slow. I was mostly around 11:30 pace.
Just dance walks faster than that so as always if I am the 6 I let him go up and get his as long as he picks up the 6 on the way out of the park.
we got back at 58, I led some breathing exercises that I used to do with musicians. Some people were into it. I may do a breathing Q one day.
Circle of Trust
I recently reconnected with a buddy from college. We went to music school together, he is a band director and was an admin.
He was married to another girl in our friend group and they were a great pair. Unfortunately they divorced in 2023.
Although the conversation contained many positive elements, this struck me.
So many men in their mid 40s are having these issues. While I am not there yet, its a fear I have. My marriage is not what I want it to be.
Naked Man Moleskin
I had my towel which is like a giant cape. It also freaked people out.
As usual we encountered our beautiful fia sisters en route. Always good to see them and say good morning. I hope they weren’t jealous of my giggly parts!
