Introduction

The intent of this workout was to create an 11’s style Boot Camp in which each round of the 11s you completed there would be a one dollar donation to the charity Hope for the Day.

the work took place in the parking lot for the duration of the Boot Camp. We started on one side of the lot, doing one exercise, and ran to the next side of the parking lot doing the next exercise. Back-and-forth. Back-and-forth. Once one round was complete, the PAX would move to the next round and put a tally mark with chalk on the blacktop. each tally mark represented the one dollar donation.

Warm-O-Rama

Warm up included motivators, Tappy taps, Michael Phelps, imperial walkers, Abe Vigoda’s, and tie fighters.

after that, we got into the workout.

The Thang

All of the PAX started on the east end of the parking lot near the flags. This is where each round of the 11s began.

we started with one rep of overhead press, then would run to the west side of the parking lot and do 10 Merkins. we would run back, then repeat the exercise only this time for two overhead press, and nine merkins. we did this until we finished the last rep and then each PAX would take a piece of chalk and write a tally mark on the black top indicating that they finished the round and a dollar would be donated to hope for the day.

when one round was complete, you would move to the next round. This time it was coupon squats and Bonnie Blair’s. Same format as above!

the final round was Blockees and Bobby Hurleys. if you did get through all three rounds, you would put two tally marks on the ground. Three rounds. Four tally marks.

Circle of Trust

CoT was about the importance of mental health. I shared that my brother-in-law passed away due to suicide three years ago today. I told everyone that it’s good to reach out to people and it’s good to be there for people. F3 Plainfield has no problem with that – it’s a fantastic group of men!! I also mentioned that if anyone is going through a hard time, please don’t ever feel like you are a burden or a trouble if you ask for help.

I told everyone it’s OK not to be OK. We all need to be able to lean on each other at times. The more we can help each other out when we needed the stronger we become.

Naked Man Moleskin

I am incredibly grateful for everyone that came out. There were 17 of us in total, which is amazing! A lot of people put in great work today and also helped the great cause. I couldn’t be happier!!
